DENTON (WBAP/KLIF) – Denton Police say they have located Alek Lara and reunited the child with family members. Alek had been missing since December 2014 when police say his father, Ricardo Martinez killed his mother.
27 year old Maria Medina was found beaten to death inside Sanchez Insurance and Tax. During their investigation detectives found Martinez had escaped to Mexico and taken Alex with him.
Denton Police worked with the Department of Justice, the FBI and Mexican authorities to locate Alek and take Martinez into custody. Alek was been reunited with family in Texas.
Martinez will be extradited back to the state.
