FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) – Racing fans won’t have to deal with any construction going to the race this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway.
Construction has been called off for the entire weekend on Interstate 35W as far south as Loop 820.
“So that we can allow for traffic to move into the speedway and out of the speedway with as little hindrance as possible. There may be a little bit going on behind barricades, but the main lanes will be open. We will not have any lane closures.”
Michelle Releford with TxDOT says construction companies have it written in their contract that no work will be done during certain special events.
