DENTON (WBAP/KLIF News) There may still be dozens of homeless looking for a place to go now that Dallas has shut down the camp it called “Tent City.” But the city of Denton is concerned some of those who were not sent to shelters are showing up there. An elderly man seen often at the Amazing Love Ministries was found dead after drowning in a weekend rainstorm. The Denton Record Chronicle reports Manuel Abrego tried to shelter himself under a bridge and became trapped by the rising water. Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings announced the creation of the Dallas Commission on Homelessness, which is expected to eventually come up with plans to combat the growing problem. But outreach workers in Denton say they are concerned about the meantime.
