DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Click It Or Ticket…it’s the Texas Department of Public Safety and TxDOT’s annual seat belt enforcement effort.
It’s underway and will be in effect for the next two weeks.
“That first year, we saw out state seatbelt use rise from 76%, to 81%,” said Kelly Selman, a spokesman for TxDOT. “And now, more than 90% of Texas drivers and front seat passengers use their seatbelts.”
Selman stressed that it only takes three seconds to buckle your seatbelt, but not buckling up could cost you…a $200 ticket…or worse.
