FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF NEWS) – It was an almost-capacity crowd at the Fort Worth Independent School District’s last meeting of the school year.
Most were there to comment on the district’s guideline allowing transgendered students to use the restroom of their choosing, and most didn’t like it.
One woman said the policy discriminated against heterosexual students.
“Should they lose their right to safety and privacy to give gender-trans students student rights? Discrimination is discrimination.”
Another woman, who said she doesn’t live in the district, says those opposed to the guideline are misinformed.
“I believe that the majority of parents who oppose these guidelines are afraid, because they have been told they should be…by means of manipulated data, misinformation, talking points, and hyperbole.”
The board plans to take up the matter again next week, at a series of workshops.
