DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) The process to find a solution to homelessness in Dallas is officially underway. The commission assigned to the task met for the first time yesterday just a few miles from where the city shut down the vagrant-full community dubbed “Tent City.” The group, led by the Metro Dallas Homeless Alliance Board, is made up of leaders in the city, county, and neighborhoods, and well as outreach workers. The commission seems to agree that building homes and cottages for the chronically homeless is a less expensive alternative to eradicating tent communities. It meets again in about 3 weeks to develop that and more options, according to the Dallas Morning News. The Dallas Commission on Homelessness is expected to present a solution to the city in August.
