PLANO (WBAP/KLIF News) – A man has been arrested after his girlfriend was found stabbed to death inside her apartment in Plano.
Officers went to check on Jennifer Streit-Spears, 43, around 10:00 a.m. Sunday after receiving a call from her sister about a possible disturbance, said police spokesman David Tilley.
Police forced their way into the apartment, which had been locked from the inside, and found Streit-Spears’ body. Kenneth Amyx, 45, was also inside the apartment with stab wounds, which officers believed were superficial and “self-inflicted.”
After a short stay at the hospital, Amyx was booked into Collin County Jail on a $600,000 bond.

Police said Amyx had posted grisly photos on Streit-Spears’ Facebook page with the caption, “Please pray for us.” The post is in police evidence. According to one of Streit-Spears’ friends, the photos were removed from Facebook on Monday.
“We’re going to do a thorough investigation to see if we can determine a motive in this case,” said Tilley.
More information is expected to be released on Tuesday.
