THE COLONY (WBAP/KLIF News) – Amusement parks across North Texas are welcoming a drier forecast and expecting high attendance.
“With the amount of rain we have had in the month of May, people are going to be excited to get outside and do activities outdoors,” said Clint Hill, the Chief Executive of Hawaiian Falls Water Park in The Colony. “May and June last year were pretty wet as well, and we saw a big ramp up in the middle of June.”
Most parks stay open when it rains. Lightening and heavy downpours are usually what cause parks to close. “There’s water at a water park. If it is just a little rain, we’re going to be open and there’s still going to be people having fun,” said Hill.
Hawaiian Falls Water Parks opened on May 28. They also have locations in Garland, Mansfield, Pflugerville, Roanoke and Waco.
