ROWLETT (WBAP/KLIF News) – Stagnant pools at homes in Rowlett that were damaged or destroyed by the December tornado are causing concern.
People living near the properties are worried the pools will become breeding grounds for mosquitoes, and many of them don’t have fencing to prevent a child from falling into them.
Code Enforcement officials said they are aware of the problem, but have to go through a lengthy process.
A code inspector has been assigned to address the problems.
WFAA-TV said the city is distributing free mosquito dunks, but homeowners have to pick them up.
