JACKSONVILLE (WBAP/KLIF News) Many parents around the nation are rallying behind a Florida father who took his son’s car away as a punishment. Allan Gieger says he caught his 18-year-old son smoking marijuana in the SUV he bought him, so he took away the keys and posted the truck for sale on Craigslist. The SUV sold after just 2 hours. Local parenting expert Joann Schauf says teenagers’ brains aren’t yet equipped with good judgment and that the punishment was too severe. Gieger even offered a discount to a local buyer so his son would see the vehicle around town, and remember “how good he had it.”
