DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – A wrong-way crash shut down a busy toll road in north Dallas on Monday morning.
It happened around 3:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes of the President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT) near Marsh.
Investigators said one driver got onto the tollway via the exit ramp and continued in the wrong direction before it collided with another driver.
“The suspected wrong-way driver was not hurt and was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated,” said Lonny Haschel, a lieutenant with the Department of Public Safety. “The driver of the other vehicle was taken to the Medical Center of Plano with non-life threatening injuries. That driver too, is under investigation for driving while intoxicated.”
A third driver crashed into the wreckage. They weren’t seriously hurt and taken to Presbyterian Hospital of Plano.
PGBT reopened around 5:30 a.m.
