FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) – A construction worker in Fort Worth died after getting pinned under a vehicle.
It happened around 7:30 a.m. Thursday at a site just a few miles south of Alliance Airport.
“When our crews and the Fort Worth police and fire departments arrived on scene they found an adult male who appeared to be hit by a large construction vehicle,” said Matt Zavadsky, with MedStar. “After quite a while of trying to get him out, he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. He was declared dead on scene.”
According to Zavadsky, the vehicle was not moving at the time. “The vehicle was being unloaded when this happened. It may have just been something with the mechanics while it was stopped,” added Zavadsky.
The construction site is for several commercial buildings.
Police are investigating and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration [OSHA] is expected to be called.
The man hasn’t been identified. “The medical examiner will work to make that determination and that information is expected to be released later this afternoon,” said Zavadsky.
