DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The family of a man who died last August after a struggle with jailers inside the main entrance to the Dallas county jail is expressing its disappointment.
A grand jury declined to indict the four detention officers.
The medical examiner said 48-year-old Joseph Hutchinson of Arlington died from the combined effects of cocaine and methamphetamine, along with heart problems. But it also ruled the death a homicide. So the case went to a grand jury.
Despite the decision Hutchinson’s family says it plans to move forward with a lawsuit against Dallas county in an effort to hold the jailers accountable.
