DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) Pilots for Southwest Airlines are still demanding higher pay. They picketed at Dallas Love Field yesterday, bringing attention to their demands for better contracts. Talks between pilots and the carrier have been going on for 4 years. Pilots say executives are enjoying nearly 50% raises since 2011 while wages for pilots have been stagnant during that time. The union wants raises totaling 32% through 2019, but part of that is to cover back pay for the start of their contract in 2012. When a computer glitch earlier this month forced the cancellation of more than 1,000 flights, pilots and other unions called to replace top management at the airline. Data shows last year set a record for airline profits. Southwest says it is willing to work through disagreements at the negotiating table, not in the public eye.
