Who doesn’t love some good ol’ Tex-Mex….especially when you can get it for under a buck!
El Fenix Restaurant is celebrating it’s 98th Anniversary with 98 cent cheese enchiladas served all day at their original McKinney Ave location in downtown Dallas. Alfred Martinez opened the restaurant back in 1918 and it stayed in the Martinez family until 2008. The chain marks the anniversary of the original location each year with a cheese enchilada dinner special….the price matches the year. In honor of 98 years patrons can enjoy the 98 cent cheese enchilada dinner with two cheese enchiladas, rice and beans.
Reynaldo is a manager at the downtown Dallas location, he says they’ve brought in extra help from other locations because they expect to serve more than 1,000 customers just at lunch. He says “we’ll be working really hard to make everybody happy”.
The Anniversary special is only available September 15th from 10am – 10pm at the original downtown El Fenix location at 1601 McKinney Ave. across from the Perot Museum in Dallas. And don’t worry, next year it’s still under a buck!
