DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) The City of Dallas is getting its hands on those little libraries popping up across the city. A city council committee signed off on a proposal that limits the size and location of community book exchanges. If the full council gets on board, Dallas will become one of the only cities in the nation to regulate the boxes. Dallas wants little libraries to stand no more than 5 feet high, 20 inches wide and 18 inches deep. The boxes also have to be at least 10 feet away from neighbors who do not want them near their property. In Arizona, anyone who installs a library gets a $300 tax rebate. Dallas council members have expressed concern that some neighbors may donate pornographic material into the boxes.
