DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Safety is the primary concern of ride operators at this year’s State Fair.
Recent injuries and even deaths on amusement park rides across the country are a cause for concern for some ride operators.
This Summer, three girls fell off a Ferris wheel in Tennessee, a boy died on a water slide in Kansas and a girl was scalped on a carnival ride in Nebraska.
Ride owners coming to the State Fair were briefed Wednesday night about what is expected of them during a meeting by the man tasked with selecting the 73 rides.
The State Fair inspector said if you have doubts about a ride, watch it closely, check for working lights and alert ride attendants.
