DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – A baby girl who was the center of an Amber Alert was found safe in Dallas.
The statewide hunt for the 14-month-old girl began when police said her father didn’t return her to her mom. Instead, he reportedly texted a photograph that led police to believe he sexually abused the child.
Police won’t say where the information came from, but they traced Fortino Cornejo to a wooded area near Cedar Valley College.
Officers said they saw him hand the child to an unidentified third party, then run into the woods.
The baby was taken to Children’s Medical Center.
Cornejo has been charged with sexual exploitation of a child.
