DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The Dallas County Health Department has issued a Health Advisory for mumps for one area of the City of Dallas.
It is in the 75219 zip code which is in the Victory Park and Oak Lawn areas of Dallas.
County health leaders think the exposure occurred during a Halloween party which happened Saturday, October 29th.
One case of mumps has been confirmed with an additional three probable cases.
Mumps is transmitted by direct contact with respiratory droplets or saliva and can take up to 18 days of incubation.
Symptoms include fever, headache, tiredness and swelling of salivary glands.
