Arlington (WBAP/KLIF News) – Fans started tailgating hours before the Cowboys’ Thanksgiving game at AT&T Stadium. The Cowboys hosted the Washington Redskins and won Thursday.
“This is a day to give thanks,” says one fan. “It’s a day to give thanks for how good the Cowboys are doing this year.”
“Everybody takes you in,” one fan from North Carolina said. “It doesn’t matter where you’re from. My wife wore a Carolina jersey last year, and they loved her right to death.”
The Cowboys first hosted a game on Thanksgiving in 1966.
“We’ve got lots of food,” another says. “People walking by, we invited them to come up and grab a plate and have a good time.”
The Cowboys are 6-1 against Washington on Thanksgiving. The Redskins won the last time the two met on Thanksgiving in 2012, 38-31.
The Cowboys beat the Redskins 31-26 and extended their record to an NFL best 10-1.
