DALLAS (WBAP & KLIF News) — An anonymous donor has decided to triple all donations today to the SPCA for #GivingTuesday, donating $2.00 for every $1.00 given to the organization.
It’s the second year the SPCA has taken part in Giving Tuesday, which started in 2012, and the SPCA says their goal this year is to receive $50,000 in donations.
“We have amazing supporters of the SPCA of Texas,” said SPCA spokesperson Victoria Albrecht. “When we do events like this, they tend to like to contribute extra.”
The money the SPCA receives, according to Albrecht, will go toward things like medical needs, rehabilitation, food, shelter, supplies, and care.
“It takes every dollar to truly make a difference,” Albrecht said. “What that ultiamtely does is help these animals get the help they need so they can go into people’s homes and be amazing pets for people.”
