DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Johnny Manziel will have to wait a little longer to find out if his misdemeanor family violence charge will be dropped by a Dallas judge.
The former Cleveland Browns and Texas A&M Quarterback was scheduled to appear on the case Thursday morning at the Frank Crowley Courthouse in downtown Dallas, but the hearing was cancelled so the judge could attend the funeral of his bailiff, who passed away Sunday. Manziel was required to appear in court today where it was expected that the charges would be dropped due to a conditional deal worked out last month between prosecutors and Manziel’s attorneys. The charges stem from a January incident between Manziel and his ex-girlfriend at a Dallas hotel.
The Dallas District Attorney’s Office said there’s no timetable yet on when the hearing will be rescheduled.
