DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – A group of police officers from California used Sunday’s 46th annual Dallas Marathon to pay a special tribute to the officers who were killed in the July 7th ambush.
Decked out in 25 pounds of police fear, the officers ran the 26.2 miles. “It was emotional,” Lt. Brandon Purcell, from Fresno, told WFAA-TV. “We understand there a lot of people who can’t run this race today who didn’t make it home after their shift. We do it for them.”
The group held a police memorial flag during the race. It had the names of the fallen Dallas officers on the front.
