Alan Thicke, the actor best known for playing Dr. Jason Seaver on the 80’s sitcom ‘Growing Pains’ has died. His death was confirmed on Tuesday by the publicist of his son, pop singer Robin Thicke.
The Canadian-born actor was a producer and songwriter during the span of his career, as well as a game show talk host and presenter. He appeared in numerous television shows including ‘Growing Pains’, ‘The Alan Thicke Show’ and had a cameo appearance in ‘How I Met Your Mother‘.
Thicke was married three times, and has three sons, Brennan, Carter William and Robin Thicke. In 1999, he met Tanya Callau in Miami, where he was a celebrity host and she was a model. They were married from 2005 until his death.
On December 13th, Thicke suffered a heart attack while playing hockey with his son Carter, and died at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center at the age of 69.
