DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Pope Francis has appointed a new bishop for the Diocese of Dallas.
Reverend Edward J. Burns will lead the 1.3 million Catholics in Dallas.
He’ll take over for Cardinal Kevin Farrell who left Dallas for Rome in October.
Burns will be installed as the new bishop in February at the Cathedral Shrine the Virgin of Guadalupe in downtown Dallas.
He’s called for a special holy hour Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. to mark his new appointment.
