DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF NEWS)-The Centers for Disease Control provided the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development with a cost saving strategic plan. In there, Economic Impacts of Winnable Battle Strategies report, the CDC suggests that all public housing become smoke free.
From the data they collected the CDC concluded this change could save HUD and ultimately taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars. If implemented the rule would protect residents from medical costs associated with secondhand smoke, home renovation expenses, and smoking-attributable fire damages.
