(WBAP/KLIF) – Congressman Michael Burgess of North Texas will be a key lawmaker making the proposed changes to Obamacare.
Burgess enrolled himself into an exchange with the Affordable Care Act instead of taking the usual plan members of congress enter into. With the knowledge he gained as a member he will now go forward as Chairman of a House subcommittee making the proposed changes to the law.
The congressman told the Texas Tribune that the position is a position where he needs to be. He is quoted as saying his role is to get the policy in the best possible shape.
Republicans have said time and again that as the process moves forward, those insured under the Affordable Care Act should not worry about suddenly losing their insurance.
