Remains Identified as Missing North Texas Woman

zuzu-verk BREWSTER COUNTY (WBAP/KLIF) – According to the Brewster County Sheriff’s Department remains found in a shallow grave northwest of Alpine last week are those of missing college student Zuzu Verk of Keller.

Police had been searching for the woman since she disappeared in October.

Her boyfriend, Robert Fabian, was arrested Saturday and charged with tampering with evidence by concealing or hiding a corpse. Police have also arrested a second person in connection with the case. Chris Estrada, a friend of Fabian’s, was arrested in Arizona and will be brought back to Texas.

Bond for Fabian has been set at $500,000. Brewster County Sheriff Ronny Dobson says they are concerned if he bonds out he will flee to Mexico. Fabian had to surrender his passport and must report to the sheriff’s department daily before 5:00 PM if he’s released.
